How much does Speech and Debate Club Cost?
We will be doing speech and debate fees differently this year. Each tournament typically costs $15-20 per entry. Instead of hunting down tournament fees for every tournament, we will be doing a 1 time $220 member fee. This will cover 1 category entry for all tournaments, T-shirt, & 1-2 fun activities.

I can't afford $220, can I still join?
There are many ways to afford the fee. You can break the fee into 4 quarterly payments of $55. You can participate in the Summer Calendar Sponsorship. Even if neither of these options help you, we will not turn away a student passionate about speech and debate. Contact us if you are in need of financial assistance.

Why pay a fee if I we do fundraisers?
The fee of $220 up front makes it easier for us to register your student for tournaments & plan ahead. If a student genuinely needs financial assistance, we will use fundraising funds to cover their fee. Fundraising will help us with many things.
We plan to attend one overnight tournament. We will use some of our funds to assist with that if needed. We will do 1-2 fun activities. Also, if we qualify for Nationals it is a 4-5 day event in Virginia. We will need funds to assist bus fair, lodging, food and entry fees. If we qualify will do all that we can to make the trip to Nationals in Virginia possible.

What if I want to double enter?
Fees cover 1 entry per tournament. If a student would like to enter in more than one category, they'll have to pay an additional entry fee before registration closes for that tournament.

What happens if we have left over funds at the end of the year?
All funds at the end of any tournament year will be rolled over into the following year.
How do I know where funds are going?
You will be given a receipt for any fee that you pay. We also will send out monthly reports on all expenditures.
